Jeff Gellis has been playing bass for the past several decades, a pursuit that has taken him all over the world. Playing in the house band at Preachers in NYC with harmonica virtuoso Will Galison, the club would regularly be filled with the likes of Paul Butterfield and Jaco Pastorious. Later Gellis became house bassist at SOBs in NYC. Along the way, Jeff was playing with Phoebe Snow, members of the Saturday Night Live band, Steely Dan, Jackson Brown, Ronnie Spector, as well as a leader on a number of projects. In the late 80′s, Jeff teamed up with brother Dave Gellis as the rhythm section for Blood Sweat and Tears, touring all around the globe and appearing in major venues and TV programs including Top of the Pops. The Tonight Show, Joan Rivers Show, and many others. Jeff also plays double bass, is a producer, writer and arranger.
